The conversation with her patient was somewhat disturbing. Chad did not believe his name was Chadrick Bloomesfield. She herself had thought the name was somewhat of a stage name as well, but she’d paused her investigation for a while. It was time to resume checking into accidents that happened around the time that Chad was admitted. If he was in a motor vehicle accident, the police would certainly have a report of it on their public domain.
The doctor had returned to her quarters, thinking about their conversation as well as the kiss. Deep down, she wished he wasn’t such a gentleman. Why didn’t he just finish what he started? Damn! She cursed as her body betrayed her.
As she lay the bed, another trouble tormented her. It wasn’t about wanting sex, but rather to find out the truth. If she could just find out something about him, she could help put his mind at ease. It wasn’t good that he felt uncomfortable with his own name. She’d previously checked on accident victims and somehow also checked missing persons. Her search had come up empty. She had also checked with the hospital that he was supposedly taken was no patient by that name was ever admitted there.
Pulling out her cell phone, she logged on to the internet and pulled up her browser. The medical file said the accident was near Vegas. Adrianna checked with the Las Vegas PD website for accidents around the time Chad was supposedly admitted in the hospital. Nothing relating to him came up.
Still, her instincts told her to keep searching. She changed the search terms several times but nothing relating to her patient came up. But if Chad was not his real name, she could have been searching the wrong terms.
As she scrolled through her search history, the missing scientist caught her attention. Curious to know whether they had found him, she clicked on the link. The old link came up along with new stories with the name Julian McConnell. Now quite interested to see what the news was on the missing scientist, she clicked on the latest story about his cancer project.
‘Julian McConnell, the inventor of the DBS chip, and a new cancer technology, is still missing. According to sources, the investors Reid and Anderson have pulled out of the project out of respect for the original creator of the cancer chip, known as the Martha Project. Word has it that the company started by McConnell is now headed by his partner and longtime friend, Ryan Chambers. It is believed that staff members are keeping their hopes up that their beloved chief will return soon. One member of staff has been detained in the matter, but no formal charges have been laid as he has denied having anything to do with the missing scientist. The police have no evidence to support a charge at this time.’
She was about to scroll away when a tiny photo at the bottom of the article caught her attention. She had to zoom several times to see it clearly.
